Vape Guardian helps secondary schools, FE colleges and employers across Wales detect vaping in toilets and changing rooms, alerting staff in about 5 seconds so they can step in early.
The 2025 SHRN Student Health and Well-being Survey found that 5.2% of learners in Years 7 to 11 vape at least weekly, rising to 12.8% in Year 11 (Public Health Wales, 2026). Rates have fallen since 2023, and our system helps heads and pastoral teams keep that going.

Vaping Rules in Wales
Since 1 March 2021, school grounds in Wales have had to be smoke-free under the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017, with bilingual signs and a duty to stop anyone smoking there (Welsh Government). That duty covers smoking, not vaping. The Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026, which received Royal Assent on 29 April 2026, lets Welsh Ministers designate smoke-free places as vape-free once its Welsh provisions are brought into force (legislation.gov.uk). Since 1 June 2025, supplying single-use vapes, with or without nicotine, has also been an offence in Wales (Welsh Government).
Proven in Hundreds of UK Schools
Welsh schools can install a system already used in hundreds of UK schools to monitor toilets, with no cameras or microphones.
Leisure centres, cinemas and shops can detect indoor vaping early. Local authority trading standards teams across Wales continue to seize illegal vapes (Trading Standards Wales), and sensors help venues deal with vaping on site.
Discreet sensors help employers and local authorities keep toilets, stairwells and public buildings free of vaping, with alerts sent straight to facilities staff.
They pick up a single puff of vape and send alerts to staff straight away, they're that accurate.
