Indonesia E-Cigarette Rules
E-cigarettes are legal for adults in Indonesia but tightly controlled. Government Regulation (PP) No. 28 of 2024 bans selling tobacco products and e-cigarettes to anyone under 21 or to pregnant women, from self-service machines, and within 200 metres of schools and children’s play areas (Article 434; Ministry of Health, 2024).
Regional governments must set Kawasan Tanpa Rokok by local regulation (Perda). They cover health facilities, places of teaching and learning, children’s play areas, places of worship, public transport, workplaces and public places such as hotels, restaurants, cinemas and shopping centres (Article 443). Sensors help managers enforce smoke-free rules and their own no-vaping policies where staff cannot watch.

Sensors for Your Building
SMP and SMA schools, pesantren dormitories, universities, Bali resorts, Jakarta offices and shopping centres can use sensors to keep Kawasan Tanpa Rokok smoke-free.
Installed in Hundreds of UK Schools
Indonesian schools get a system that hundreds of UK schools use to monitor toilets, without cameras or microphones.
Hotels, restaurants, cinemas and malls are listed as public places in smoke-free area rules. Sensors help them spot indoor vaping in toilets and rooms quickly.
Adult e-cigarette use in Indonesia rose tenfold in a decade, from 0.3% in 2011 to 3.0% in 2021, according to the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (Ministry of Health and WHO). Here is what our system offers.

Always Up to Date
Software updates are pushed remotely at no extra charge, so sensors on every island stay current.
How It Works in 3 Steps
From the first puff to a staff notification.
Vaping
Someone uses a vape in a toilet, hotel room or meeting room, and the aerosol spreads.
Detection
The sensor tracks air composition around the clock and recognises vape aerosol, THC and Spice. It has no camera or microphone.
Notification
Teachers, hotel duty managers or building security receive an SMS, email or app alert in about 5 seconds.
Faster Change in Behaviour
Vape Guardian customers have seen the number of vaping incidents halve within about two weeks, once people realise indoor vaping is detected.
They pick up a single puff of vape and send alerts to staff straight away, they're that accurate.
