From S1 corridors to council offices, Vape Guardian sensors pick up vaping in toilets and other unsupervised spaces and notify staff within roughly 5 seconds.
The Health and Wellbeing Census 2021/22 found that 10.1% of S4 pupils vaped at least once a week, up from 3% in SALSUS 2018 (Scottish Government, experimental statistics). Our system gives head teachers and pupil support staff practical help.
Prevention and Support
Built with LifeLab at the University of Southampton, our education course suits the supportive, whole-school approach set out in Scottish Government guidance from March 2026.
Designed in the UK
Hardware and software are developed in-house, so schools and education authorities deal with one supplier for devices, app and support.
UK-Based Specialists
Our vaping, hardware and software experts help by email, phone or Live Chat, from rollout to day-to-day alerts.
27 Countries and Counting
Vape Guardian is installed in hundreds of UK schools and used by customers in 27 countries. Some have recorded vaping incidents falling by half in roughly two weeks.
Smoke, Crowds & Noise
Sensors also detect cigarette smoke, overcrowding and loud noises that might signal a problem.
Free Remote Updates
Software upgrades are pushed over the air for free, so there is no engineer call-out to each school in the authority.
Our 100-day money-back guarantee lets a school, college or local authority trial vape detection and get a refund if the sensors fall short.

Vaping Rules in Scotland
Since 1 June 2025, selling or supplying single-use vapes, with or without nicotine, has been illegal in Scotland, with council trading standards officers enforcing the ban (Scottish Government). The Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 lets Scottish Ministers make no-smoking premises vape-free once that part is brought into force, and from 29 October 2026 the Scottish register of tobacco and vaping retailers expands to cover nicotine products (legislation.gov.uk). Selling vapes to under-18s is already an offence.
Proven in Hundreds of UK Schools
Hundreds of UK schools already rely on this system to keep watch over toilets, and none of it involves cameras or microphones.
Councils and employers can use discreet sensors in libraries, offices and depots, with a notification reaching the facilities team the moment vaping is detected.
They pick up a single puff of vape and send alerts to staff straight away, they're that accurate.
