Vape Detection for Australian Schools & Workplaces
Vapes are now a pharmacy-only product in Australia, yet they still turn up in school toilets. Vape Guardian helps secondary schools, TAFE campuses and employers spot vaping in bathrooms and change rooms and alerts staff within about 5 seconds.

Why Australian Schools Use Vape Guardian
Youth vaping is easing but still common. Cancer Council's Generation Vape study found 14.6% of 14 to 17-year-olds had ever vaped in April 2025, down from 17.5% in 2023, while the national ASSAD survey (2022–23) found 30% of secondary students had tried vaping and 16% had vaped in the past month. Here is how our system helps principals and wellbeing teams.
Education Alongside Enforcement
Our vaping education course, developed with LifeLab at the University of Southampton, gives wellbeing staff and health teachers material for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
One Supplier, Engineered in the UK
The sensors, the app and the cloud software are all designed in-house by our UK team, so a single company stands behind the whole system.

Vaping Laws in Australia
Since 1 July 2024, all vapes, with or without nicotine, can only be sold in pharmacies, for quitting smoking or managing nicotine dependence. Since 1 October 2024, adults can buy vapes with up to 20 mg/mL nicotine after a pharmacist consultation, while under-18s need a prescription where state and territory law allows (TGA). Western Australia requires a prescription for everyone, and vape advertising has been banned nationally since 1 April 2024 (Department of Health). States add their own rules: in Victoria, nobody may smoke or vape on school premises or within 4 metres of a school entrance (Victorian Department of Education).
Relied On in Hundreds of UK Schools
Australian schools can adopt a system that hundreds of UK schools already use to watch over toilets, with no cameras or microphones.
State and territory smoke-free laws apply to vaping in many indoor workplaces. Discreet sensors let employers know when someone vapes in a bathroom or stairwell.
They pick up a single puff of vape and send alerts to staff straight away, they're that accurate.
