Vape Guardian helps secondary schools, MBO colleges and employers in the Netherlands detect vaping in toilets and changing rooms, alerting staff within about 5 seconds so a smoke-free school stays smoke-free.
Trimbos Institute research, published by the Dutch government in December 2023, found that about 1 in 5 young people aged 12 to 25 had vaped in the past year (Rijksoverheid). Our system gives school leaders and caretakers practical support.
Prevention Built In
Our education course, developed with LifeLab at the University of Southampton, gives mentors and health teachers material to talk about vaping, not just catch it.
Made by a UK Team
We design the sensors and write the software ourselves in the UK, so there is one company accountable for the whole system.
Specialists on Hand
Our hardware, software and vaping experts answer by email, phone or Live Chat whenever you need help.
Customers in 27 Countries
Hundreds of UK schools and organisations in 27 countries use Vape Guardian, and customers have seen vaping incidents cut in half within about two weeks.
Wider Alerts
Sensors also report cigarette smoke, overcrowding and loud noises, helping staff notice problems before they escalate.
Free Remote Updates
New features arrive over the air without extra charges or site visits.
We're confident the sensors will work for you. If they don't, the 100-day money-back guarantee lets your school or organisation try vape detection with minimal risk.

Vaping Rules in the Netherlands
Since 1 July 2020, vaping, with or without nicotine, has been banned wherever smoking is banned, including workplaces, public buildings, cafés and restaurants. Since 1 August 2020 schools have also had to keep their grounds smoke-free, show this clearly and enforce it, and since 1 January 2024 only tobacco-flavoured vapes may be sold (Rijksoverheid). Sensors help you enforce these rules in places staff cannot always see.
Trusted by Hundreds of UK Schools
Dutch schools can adopt a system that hundreds of UK schools already use to monitor toilets, without recording images or sound.
Employers must keep the workplace smoke-free, and that includes vaping. Discreet sensors alert facilities staff when someone vapes in a toilet or stairwell.
They pick up a single puff of vape and send alerts to staff straight away, they're that accurate.
