From licei and istituti tecnici to offices and shopping centres, Vape Guardian helps organisations in Italy spot e-cigarette use in toilets and other unsupervised areas, with staff alerted in about 5 seconds.
The rules are being enforced: in 2023 the regional administrative court in Brescia (TAR Lombardia, ruling 679/2023) upheld a two-day suspension given to a pupil caught vaping at school. Here is how our system supports dirigenti scolastici and their staff.
Teaching as Well as Detecting
Our vaping education course, created with LifeLab at the University of Southampton, helps teachers explain the health risks so the ban means something to students.
One UK Engineering Team
Sensor hardware and monitoring software are both developed in-house in the UK, so you deal with a single supplier for the device, the app and every update.

Hundreds of UK Schools, 27 Countries
Vape Guardian is installed in hundreds of UK schools and has customers in 27 countries, and some have seen vaping incidents cut in half within about two weeks.
Smoke, Crowds and Noise Too
The same sensor can flag cigarette smoke, too many people in one room and sudden loud noises, giving staff an early warning of trouble.
Updates at No Extra Cost
Improvements are installed remotely and free of charge, so nobody has to visit each building to keep the system current.
We think our sensors will make a real difference to your school or business. If they don't, our 100-day money-back guarantee means trying vape detection carries very little risk.

Supporting the School Vaping Ban
Under Decree-Law 104/2013, converted by Law 128/2013, using e-cigarettes is banned in the closed premises of state and paritarie schools and in vocational training centres, with fines set under Law 584/1975. Selling nicotine e-cigarettes to under-18s is prohibited (Ministero della Salute), and online sales of nicotine vaping products have been banned since 1 January 2025 (Legislative Decree 141/2024). Sensors help you apply rules that already exist.
Relied On in Hundreds of UK Schools
Italian schools can choose a system already used in hundreds of UK schools to watch over toilets and changing rooms, without cameras or microphones.
They pick up a single puff of vape and send alerts to staff straight away, they're that accurate.
