Three kids, a 13-year-old girl among them, pass out from vaping as a 12-year-old boy is taken into custody.

A 13-year-old girl who had collapsed after using a vape pen raised the alarm and was taken to the hospital.
Additionally, a warning was issued to schools by education safeguarding chiefs who reported that a total of three children had been ill.

In response to the events in Caerphilly and Torfaen, South Wales, parents and educators are now being asked to be on the lookout for the concerning indicators.

First responders at schools in the boroughs of Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen, and Blaenau Gwent have been given guidance on what to do if students have used illicit substances.

The Newport Education Safeguarding department also sent a letter to the schools in Newport, Gwent.
“We have had two separate cases involving three children who used a vape pen and became ill,” the statement stated.

Since the kids have become sick and passed out after inhaling the vaporizer, it is believed that the device may contain an illegal substance or poison.

Currently, the Gwent regions of Caerphilly and Torfaen are home to the impacted youngsters. Please exercise caution in relation to comparable cases that have been reported, treat symptoms as needed, and report incidents to social services and the police.

A 12-year-old kid was detained after being taken into custody in relation to one of the events, according to Gwent Police.
“We received a report of a medical emergency in Incline Road, Abersychan, Pontypool at approximately 9.45am on Wednesday, December 6,” a force spokesman stated.

After receiving medical attention in a hospital, a 13-year-old Blaenavon girl was released later that day. A 12-year-old Pontypool kid has been taken into custody on charges of dealing in a class B substance. For now, he is still being held by the police.

It comes after Welsh health chiefs demanded that disposable vapes be outlawed in order to combat youth e-cigarette use.

According to Public Health Wales, there is a strong correlation between disposables and an increase in vaping among youth and children.
