WDTV – BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. Three Philip Barbour High School students who used a vaping device last Friday are now discharged from the hospital.
Despite the fact that they are fine, authorities assert that vaping is a problem that is spreading across the state and the nation.

When three kids at Philip Barbour High School had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital, it was a frightening situation. It is still unknown what ingredient inside the vapes that the youngsters were using caused them to become ill.
Woofter claims that despite the ongoing inquiry, more young people are easily able to get these smoking items.
According to Woofter, “These students can often have these vapes in plain sight without anyone realising they are vapes.”
Vaping devices come in a variety of flavours and can be used to smoke a variety of drugs, including nicotine, marijuana, and CBD.
In a class action complaint against vape maker Juul, Woofter claims that this type of promotion makes these items enticing to young people. As a result, their county is participating, along with hundreds of others.
In essence, Woofter said, “they targeted minors to encourage them to utilise their products.” I believe it would be difficult to locate a middle or high school anywhere in the country where there aren’t some students using those items.
Woofter claims that despite the school’s efforts to inform pupils about the risks of smoking and to implement technology to identify and prohibit the use of vapes, these children had to learn the risks of smoking for themselves.
We hope that the three kids who were sent to the hospital will serve as a wake-up call, aiding the educational process and discouraging classmates from participating, but you just never know, added Woofter.
The Barbour County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate what was in the vapes. Despite their assurance that it wasn’t fentanyl, they haven’t said what they believe it to be or how it got there.
